Rehabmart.com, an online e-commerce company that sells rehabilitation and medical supplies, has joined into a distribution partnership with Exertools, Incorporated, to offer activity-specific equipment for training, rehabilitation and functional fitness to a larger consumer market. Exertools was founded in 1990 by Eric Parsells in Northern California. Parsells has been involved in sports and conditioning most of his life and is a true entrepreneur and industry expert with experience in product invention, design, marketing and sales. He was a graduate assistant to the world renowned David Costill, PhD, and together they worked on muscle ultrastructure response to stress and the factors which effect reliability and accuracy of human parameter evaluation. Parsells also worked with Leroy Bud Getchell, PhD, who developed the Ball State Adult Fitness and Cardiac Rehab program, and with Dr. Fred Lane at the National Institute of Health?s Cancer Building.
In January of 1990, Parsells founded Exertools, formerly known as Functionally Integrated Technologies (F.I.T.) and an independent rep firm, SHAPE Medical Sales, which was later folded into the Exertools company. His first product invention was introduced in that very first year of business, an innovative medicine ball rebounder, called the Plyoback Rebounder. After determining that physical therapists did not want to spend time throwing a medicine ball back and forth with a patient, Parsells and his Exertools team designed the Plyoback, and it has not only become a market leader in the field of plyometric exercise, but has also revolutionized the use of medicine balls. Exertools has since invented and/or designed eleven trademarked and patent-pending products that are changing the scope of this industry, including the Dyna Disc, Dyna Boards, the DynaTubing System, the Golf Whip, Mini and Pro Swivel Trees, the Menu Driven Cable Column and the Focus Board.
Featured in magazines like Shape and Men?s Fitness, as well as several times on The Today Show, Exertools now offers hundreds of different products to assist in the development of strength, balance and center of gravity, or core stabilization. ?We are proud to offer these high quality products from Exertools to more consumers,? said Hulet Smith, Founder and CEO of Rehabmart. ?Their product applications have great crossover appeal for the therapeutic, fitness and rehabilitation markets, and we know that both our professional and individual customers alike will love these tools for any of their training, rehabilitation and fitness needs.?
